Terms of Service#

Last updated: 30 September 2026

These terms cover your use of Yarrtifacts, a service that takes an HTML artifact, a Markdown document or another browser-viewable file and publishes it at a shareable link. Creating an account or publishing through the service means you accept them.

Who we are#

Yarrtifacts is a small independent project. These policies are published under the name Yarrtifacts, and "we" below means the people who run it. You can reach us at support@yarrtifacts.com.

We have not registered a company yet. Before paid plans open we will name the operating entity here, along with the law that governs it.

Your account#

You need an account to publish. Sign up with an email and a password, or with your Google account.

Keep your password and your API tokens to yourself. Anything published with your credentials counts as published by you, so revoke a token in the dashboard the moment you suspect it has leaked.

You need to be old enough to enter a contract where you live. The service is not for children.

You can delete the account whenever you want, from the account menu in the dashboard. That takes your artifacts and their links with it, and it cannot be undone.

What you publish stays yours#

We claim no ownership of anything you upload. You keep every right you had before.

You give us one narrow permission, for as long as the artifact is on the service: to store your files, copy them across the machines that serve them, and send them to whoever opens your link. That is all we need in order to host it. Delete the artifact and the permission ends with it.

You are responsible for having the right to publish what you publish.

A published artifact gets a link that cannot be guessed, and anyone holding that link can open it. We ask search engines to stay away from artifact pages, so they do not turn up in search results, but an unguessable link is not a secret. Anyone you send it to can send it on.

When something must not travel that way, set the artifact to password or private in the dashboard. A private artifact opens only for you. A password artifact opens for anyone who knows the password, which is entered on our own domain and never on the domain your files are served from. We store only a hash of it and cannot tell you what it was. Changing the password or the visibility cuts off anyone currently viewing.

What you may not publish#

Custom domains#

You can serve your artifacts on a domain you own. The domain stays yours and stays your responsibility: registration, renewal and the DNS records that point it at us. We take care of the certificate.

Remove the records, or let the domain lapse, and the link stops working. We can also stop serving a domain that is being used to break the rules above.

Plans, prices and what lifetime means#

What each plan includes and what it costs is on the pricing page. Those details are not repeated here on purpose, so that the two can never tell you different things.

If you buy a plan, what you bought does not shrink later. We may change the plans we sell, and that applies to new purchases.

"Lifetime" means for as long as we run the service. It is not a promise that the service runs forever, and we would rather be plain about that than let the word carry more than it can. If we ever shut down, we will tell you at least 30 days before it happens and leave you a way to download everything you published.

Payment and refunds#

Stripe handles the payment. Your card details go to Stripe and never reach us.

You can ask for a full refund within 14 days of your purchase, and you do not have to give a reason. Write to support@yarrtifacts.com and we will send the money back to the card that paid. After 14 days, ask anyway if something went wrong; we would rather sort it out than argue.

Suspension and removal#

We can take down an artifact or suspend an account that breaks these rules. When we do, we will tell you what happened and why, by email, unless the law stops us.

To report something published through the service, write to support@yarrtifacts.com with the link.

Availability#

We run this carefully but we do not promise it is always up. There is no uptime guarantee and no service credit.

Keep your own copy of anything that matters. The service publishes your work; it is not a backup of it.

Liability#

Nothing here limits liability that the law does not let us limit.

Beyond that, we are not liable for lost profits, lost data or indirect losses, and our total liability is capped at what you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

Changes to these terms#

We can update these terms. The new version appears here with a new date, and for a change that materially affects you we will email you first.

Privacy#

How we handle personal data is in the Privacy Policy.
